Every last Thursday of the month poets, musicians, and musers gather among the books and our darling piano to share their work. Hosted by local musician Peter Breen, our Open Mic is a space to experiment with new work, to unearth old work, or practice in front of a humble crowd. All are welcome to share or just to listen. Slots are 10 minutes each; sign ups start at 6:30.
March's featured artist is Hyacinth Wilde who plays piano, writes, and collaborates prolifically. Her work is informed by experiential studies in trauma, mysticism, the psychoanalytic process, and her work as a therapist on an inpatient psychiatric ward. In addition to original material, she has also begun a devotional project consisting of Leonard Cohen songs.
