My Mom's Guitar: An Evening of Spooky Tunes

An evening of spooky, creepy tunes to celebrate Halloween! Join folk acts My Mom's Guitar and the RIVERRATS as they share some of their scary tunes.

My Mom’s Guitar is an acoustic duo; Jae plays cello and Joey plays guitar and banjo. They come from different musical worlds as Jae is traditionally trained and focuses on classical music while Joey is self-taught and is more at home in the folk-sphere. Will this odd couple’s collaboration shine bright or crash and burn? Come find out. Psychic pain and disappointment in relationships are common themes in the songs but relief comes if you're willing to laugh about how hard life can be.

The RIVERRATS: Queer Doom-Folk

A Sunken Ship Irony began as an acoustic project in August of 2004 and has been straddling the fence between indie folk and anti-folk for 15 years. While the lineup has changed a dozen times through its long career, songwriter Josh Wirtanen has always been its core.

Liluna’s powerful music will take you on a raw journey of depression and stress through explosive highs and whispering lows.
