Every last Thursday of the month poets, musicians, and musers gather among the books and our darling piano to share their work. Hosted by local musician Peter Breen, our Open Mic is a space to experiment with new work, to unearth old work, or practice in front of a humble crowd. All are welcome to share or just to listen. Slots are 10 minutes each; sign ups start at 6:30.

This month’s featured performer is Andrew Lentz, a Minneapolis based musician who can be seen around town in his band The Floating Perspectives. Somewhere between Ben Folds and The Mountain Goats, Lentz’ songs are pop hits hidden under a folk sensibility. Between the grittiness and realness Lentz brings to the forefront, he writes with an unrelenting sense of optimism.
