Mike Lauer is a guitarist based out of Hutchinson, MN. Entering college, Mike switched his focus to jazz guitar and earned his degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Currently, Mike is serving as Director of Music and Worship at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN and can be seen playing live with Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks, the Monday Night Jazz Group at the Veranda Lounge in St. Cloud, and with various artists in the Twin Cities area.
Max Johnk is a bassist, composer, and teacher who lives and works in Moorhead, Minnesota. Along with regular sideman work, Max leads his own modern jazz group, the Max Johnk Septet, and remains active in the DIY music scene via the doom metal trio Benefactor, and the indie rock band Wild Amphora. Max earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and his Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Northern Illinois University.
