Join us on February 6th at 3pm for a collaborative reading from contributors to the special Black April issue of Lost Lake Folk Opera magazine, produced by Shipwreckt Books Publishing Company. The term "Black April" (Tháng Tư Đen) refers to the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. The issue was issued last year to mark the 40th anniversary of the event.
The following authors will appear to perform work:
Morgan Grayce Willow,"The War Cinquain."
Paul Pederson, "Fort Leonard Wood—1967"
Kathryn Kysar, "The Hideaway"
Tom Driscoll, "Everybody has one—Highway 61 Revisited"
Lee Henschel Jr., "The ‘nam"
In addition to readings of the above works, Tom Driscoll will speak about the origin of the Black April project, and the significance of the south east Asian contribution to this issue. Lee Henschel Jr. will moderate the event, with questions and comments from the audience to follow.
Copies of Black April will be available on-site for purchase.
