Solo guitar performances by three distinctive local musicians playing in the American primitive style. Mixing the traditional country blues fingerstyle folk idiom with unexpected compositional and improvisational methods, these players foreground the voice of the acoustic guitar as a solo instrument. Largely eschewing vocal accompaniment, the tunes instead use the guitar as a narrative vehicle to tell a story or conjure an emotion.
