Solo Guitar featuring Matt Sowell, Oscar Tengo, Mark Verdin

Join us for an evening of solo guitar performances by three distinctive local musicians playing in the American primitive style. Mixing the traditional country blues fingerstyle folk idiom with unexpected compositional and improvisational methods, these players craft a music that foregrounds the voice of the acoustic guitar as a solo instrument. Largely eschewing vocal accompaniment, the tunes instead use the guitar as a narrative vehicle to tell a story or conjure an emotion.
