Mixing the traditional country blues fingerstyle folk idiom with unexpected compositional and improvisational methods, these players craft a music that foregrounds the voice of the acoustic guitar as a solo instrument. Eschewing vocal accompaniment, the tunes instead use the guitar as a narrative vehicle to tell a story or conjure an emotion.
